10. Are students allowed to
work while studying?
For England
and New Zealand, international students are
allowed to work 20 hours per week.
In Australia,
international students are allowed to work only if
students have a work permit and
can work 20 hours
per week. To obtain the work permit, student must
be enrolled in a course at
the university. For

- International
students in the United States are
allowed to work only On-Campus and should not
exceed 20
hours per week. - In Canada, students
that enrolled to short courses (less than 6

11. What if I do not have the
IELTS results or if the result does not meet the
university's requirements, can I still apply for a
Postgraduate program?
Universities may offer
Conditional Offer based on his/her IELTS or TOEFL
results with the acceptable score or above before
a given date. Students may also be accepted with
condition that they may be required to attend an
intensive or pre-sessional English class before
attending academic classes. The duration of the
class will depend on the students' level of
English. |

12. Do I have to take the IELTS /
TOEFL test again after I have completed the
universities' English courses?
Sometimes but frequently the
universities have their own English test at the
end of the course. Check with your counselor for
more details. |

IIEC always welcomes questions and
feedbacks from students. Our staff can be

once students have arrived at the university, they
should contact the university International
Student office for further advice either on your

year begin?
In General - January,
April, July and September (Major intake, for most
of the countries).Please check with your counselor
for exact dates and months based up on
countries. |

15. When is the best time to
submit the application?
Since
most universities have limited number of seats in
some courses and in the university, it is
important to apply as early as possible.
Therefore, students should plan ahead atleast 8
months before the academic year begins. For the
most popular courses, you should consider applying
as much as 10-12 months in advance. |

16. Is health check-up required
in applying for visa and before the flight?
- For England, New Zealand and
United States, health check-up is not required.
Students should bring along your medical
certificate in case it is requested. - For
Australia, medical certificate and chest x-ray is
required in applying for your visa. Students must
fill in the medical form provided at the Australia
embassy. - For Canada, medical check-up is
required from students if the course taken is
longer than 6 months. |

17. If I would like to apply for
a postgraduate degree but my qualifications do not
meet the university requirements, what should I
do?
First, you might consider
other courses or universities that may accept your
qualifications. You may consider taking an
entrance exam such as GRE or GMAT as a good score
on these tests will enhance your application. You
may also consider postponing your study and gain
more work experience. |

GMAT is a requirement for
students applying for MBA to most universities in
United States and Canada. For England, Australia,
and New Zealand, and only particular universities

English accent or
pronunciation varies between cities and countries.
You may want to consider taking an English course
in the country where you will be studying even if
